Math - we are working away at understanding numbers, and have learned about multiples and factors. Students can now do up to #5 on the math letter that went home. Click here to see the letter!
Students should be practicing their fact families (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing facts)
LA - we have started our first "big" writing - a narrative (story). Students have the option to retell a true story, or to create one. Stories will be finished in good copy and handed in Friday, October 5th.
French - please bring in a picture / photo of autumn
SS - students should have handed in their brochure about the culture in their town. Marking rubric for SS brochure.

We've finished our first full week, gotten all of our emergency drills practiced, and still have smiles on our faces :)
Mostly just reminders for now:
Student fees are $30 this year for middle level, and cover things such as special events, materials for exploratory, lockers, etc. Please get these fees in as soon as possible.
Our gym days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday this year, so please have a change of clothes on those days. Indoor sneakers are needed for every day, as we track in a lot of dirt and mud from outside otherwise.
We have had a few cases of lice reported at school, so please remind students to be careful and not to share hats, scarves, headbands, brushes etc. Information was sent home about checking and treating lice.
Scholastic book orders have gone home, please send them back in by Friday, Sept 21st.
KVMS Kick-Off will be September 21st. We'll have snacks, and the official opening / ribbon cutting for our beautiful new track!
